Starbucks may have the more recognizable name, but 7-Eleven's City Cafe remains the king of Taiwan's fresh coffee market, helped by the convenience store chain's extensive market presence and product diversification.


The Taiwan stock exchange's market capitalization returned to NT$75 trillion level this week after its benchmark index, the Taiex, rallied on gains by contract chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC).


Property prices in 10 Taiwan districts where TSMC has factories have surged by over 20% since 2020, with Baoshan Township in Hsinchu and Sinshih District in Tainan leading the growth.


The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Department of Investment Review announced Tuesday (Oct. 15) that Taiwan’s outgoing foreign investment from January to September was US$41.56 billion (NT$1.33 trillion), a 137.75% year-on-year increase.


A new government study shows Taiwan wage growth has hit a 10-year high. To learn more about the implications, TaiwanPlus spoke to Roy Ngerng, a fair wage advocate based in Taipei.
