Analysts said what TSMC says at the investor conference is expected to dictate the movements of tech stocks in the global market. In a recent interview with CNA , Liu Pei-chen (劉佩真), a researcher at the Taiwan Industry Economics Database of the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER), said she expects TSMC's sales momentum to continue into the fourth quarter of this year on the back of an increase in orders from Apple Inc., which unveiled the newest iPhone 16 models using TSMC's advanced chips, as well as from artificial intelligence chip designer Nvidia Corp. and smartphone IC designers MediaTek Inc. and Qualcomm Inc.
The 2024 Diwali celebration, also known as the Hindu festival of lights, is coming to Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan later this month for the first time, according to a statement released by the city government on Sunday. The festival will take place at the port city's Weiwuying Metropolitan Park from 3 p.m.-8:05 p.m. on Oct. 26, allowing the public to experience India's unique festival culture through an Indian specialty food market, a variety of music and dance performances, and a spectacular fireworks show, the city government said. Diwali, or Deepavali, is a major religious festival for Hindus. It symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil".

Ger said since the convergence of Taiwan's New Southbound Policy and India's Act East policy, bilateral trade between the two countries has risen by 64% from US$5 billion (NT$161 billion) in 2016 to US$8.2 billion in 2023. Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) announced that it received the Diamond Supplier award from Canadian aerospace company Bombardier. The Taichung-based company said this year marks the fourth time it has received the award. It is one of only two aircraft manufacturing suppliers to receive this honor.
Taiwanese manufacturing giant Foxconn has unveiled its latest EV models at its annual Tech Day. This year, a "Lifestyle Multipurpose Utility Vehicle" and a mid-sized electric bus were brought out to great fanfare. Plus the company had major news: It expects to mass produce an earlier model in the United States by the end of 2025.
