Prague, April 8 (CNA) A Taiwan-funded project to support high potential startup companies in Romania was officially launched in Bucharest on Tuesday, with a top Taiwanese envoy saying he hoped it would promote closer Taiwan-Romania cooperation. Taiwan's representative to Slovakia, Lee Nan-yang (李南陽), attended the ceremony to mark the launch of the "Star Venture Programme" in the Romanian capital, according to a statement issued by Taiwan's office in Slovakia, which also covers Romania.

Taipei, April 10 (CNA) Chipmaker Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) published on Thursday record high sales figures for March and the first quarter, thanks to strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the company said. In a statement, the world's largest contract chipmaker said its consolidated sales for March totaled around NT$285.96 billion (US$8.70 billion), while revenue for the January-March period totaled NT$839.25 billion.
