Taipei, March 27 (CNA) The Ministry of Economic Affairs on Thursday released Taiwan's first white paper on the country's startup environment and ecosystem. In a statement, the ministry said that as of Dec. 31, 2024, 9,576 Taiwanese companies were listed on FINDIT, a government-backed startup information platform. The diverse products and services offered by these startups show the strong foundation the Taiwanese government has built for entrepreneurship, the ministry said.

Washington, March 28 (CNA) Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) is engaged in discussions with the Trump administration's potential tariffs on semiconductor imports to the United States, aiming to work out a solution that benefits both sides, a senior company executive said Friday. Speaking at a forum hosted by the American think tank Hudson Institute, TSMC Senior Vice President Peter Cleveland emphasized that the company was maintaining close communication with the White House and expressed optimism that discussions would move in a "positive direction."

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Chunghwa Telecom announced Monday that it will invest NT$4.6 billion (US$139.2 million) in a trans-Pacific submarine cable. TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei Cycle and the Taiwan International Sports & Fitness Show opened on Wednesday at the Nankang Exhibition Center, attracting exhibitors from 80 countries. James Huang (黃志芳), chair of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, said the scale of the two exhibitions grew this year, attracting 1,200 exhibitors, with 4,350 booths.
