Taipei, March 9 (CNA) Of the 90 countries that made deals at the 2025 Taipei International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS) held from March 3-8 at Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taipei, India was the biggest buyer, according to the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Held in conjunction with the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry, TAITRA said in a Saturday press release that the event attracted more than 4,160 buyers from 90 countries who made deals with over 1,000 participating exhibitors.
Fukuoka, Japan, March 9 (CNA) Taiwan's fruit and vegetable marketing cooperative signed a memorandum of understanding with Shigemitsu Industry Co. -- best known for its brand Ajisen Ramen -- in Japan on Sunday, marking the official entry of 10 Taiwanese agricultural products into the Japanese market.
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese chipmaker TSMC said on Monday it would invest another NT$3.29 trillion (US$100 billion) to build five more facilities in the US during an announcement made by CEO C.C. Wei (魏哲家) and US President Donald Trump at the White House.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan's three telecom companies, Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, and FarEasTone, are attending the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from Monday through Thursday, CNA reported. This year’s event, with the theme "Converge. Connect. Create," has attracted more than 2,800 exhibitors. It showcases the latest technology from major global brands and features 48 keynote speakers.

Taiwan ranked as the US' seventh-largest trading partner last year, moving up one spot from the previous year, with two-way trade increasing by more than 24 percent year-on-year, an Executive Yuan trade report showed. Bilateral trade between Taiwan and the US reached US$158.6 billion last year, up 24.2 percent from 2023, the report said, citing data from the US Department of Commerce.
